The British Rowing Explore Regatta series in Yorkshire and the North West came to the far end of Yorkshire and we hosted the first Explore Regatta in the city.
It was a fantastic event with crews coming from Sheffield, Doncaster, York University, Hollingworth Lake and Runcorn (as well as a composite Hull/Pennine crew).
We had a busy afternoon with lots of tea and cake consumed as well as a lot of racing. For some people racing they had only been in a boat a few times so this was a great way to learn about racing as they learned how to row.
A huge thanks went to Liz Bramhall for her organisation from the club’s part, the support of Hull Culture and Leisure Ltd and a special thanks to Doncaster and Leeds Rowing Club’s for loaning us boats on the day to use. A final thanks to Rob Cree and Howard Holmes for organising and collecting boats for us.
