Yorkshire Win at Bradford’s War of the Roses

P1080493

On Saturday 28th April, Bradford Amateur Rowing Club held its annual War of the Roses regatta on its beautiful stretch of the river Aire. War of the Roses is a 300m scratch veteran race (32yrs +) suitable for all rowing abilities. Crews are assembled on the day in quads and fours and later in the day crews are picked for a Lancaster and Yorkshire eight. This year HKRC sent Dave B, Dave W and Shaun to race with Bob as official HKRC cameraman. Our racers enjoyed 5-6 races each making it into the semi-finals and Shaun was lucky enough to be selected for the Yorkshire eight crew. This year saw a White Rose win making the tally Lancaster-4, Yorkshire-6. Can Lancaster close in on Yorkshire in next years race?
