It was a busy day for the club at East Park on Thursday 28th September – we had been invited to run taster sessions at the Park by Hull City Council as part of their East Park Family Fun day.
The lake was a hive of activity with kayakers, the swan pedallos and ourselves launching the Explore Rowing singles out on the water.
The club was kept busy throughout the event with a constant stream of people wanting to give rowing a try and the weather did not disappoint. By the end of the day we had received a huge increase in people enquiring about the club and our Learn to Row courses, so the club will be looking to run an extra Learn to Row course for juniors at the weekend in the near future.
It was great to see a Hull Rowing Club presence at our new home at East Park and it has helped strengthen our partnership with East Park to continue delivering Learn to Row courses and to now move our club rowing sessions to the lake.
A huge thanks to Pauline Beach from Hull City Council for her support in developing rowing at the lake and to Rob Cree from British Rowing who came along to support us.
