The start of the 2015/2016 racing season has kicked off with our Masters Scullers racing at the new York Autumn Sculls Head race.

The 4500m time trial on the Ouse run by York City Rowing Club is a new event for September and was the perfect opportunity for our Masters Double Scull of Bob Jones and Dave Wilkinson to get a feel for how their training has been going.

Racing as Masters H (70 – 75 age category), Bob and Dave’s opposition was nearly 25 years younger than them but that did not stop them. They came a creditable 85 out of 109 and were commended by York City for showing many of the competitors on the day that age did not matter and you could still be competitive with an average age of 73!
